Description
XV-232-57BAS-1-10
Product Overview
XV-232-57BAS-1-10 is an industrial RS232 serial communication isolator designed for harsh automation environments. The unit adopts advanced isolation technology to cut off ground loop currents, eliminate common-mode interference and protect connected controllers, instruments and intelligent field devices from surge and static damage. It converts and transmits bidirectional RS232 signals without requiring external power supply in standard configurations, simplifying on-site wiring modification. Widely used to stabilize serial communication links between PLCs, meters, data loggers and upper monitoring software, it effectively avoids garbled data and intermittent communication dropouts caused by potential differences between equipment grounds.
Key Characteristics
- Full galvanic isolation between the two RS232 ports to eliminate ground loop interference
- Passive power-taking design, no external DC power supply required for basic operation
- Supports standard bidirectional RS232 signal transparent transmission
- Built-in transient voltage suppression components to resist static electricity and electrical surges
- Compact housing, convenient for installation inside control cabinets or junction boxes
- Low signal transmission delay, no distortion of communication data frames
- Wide operating temperature range, adaptable to factory, energy and marine automation scenarios
- Plug-and-play structure, easy to retrofit existing serial communication lines without program modification

Installation Instructions
Disconnect power of all connected devices before wiring. Confirm signal sending and receiving pins according to product pin definition diagram. Connect the two RS232 ports separately to the master device and slave device. Do not repeatedly connect ground wires at both ends to prevent invalidation of isolation performance.
After wiring inspection, power on the related automation equipment and establish communication links. Check data receiving status to verify stable signal transmission. If communication abnormalities occur, recheck pin assignment and eliminate line short-circuit faults.
Carry out regular inspection during long-term operation. Keep the isolator away from heat sources and high-voltage cables to reduce electromagnetic interference.
