Description
Product Overview
F3331 is an 8‑channel safety‑related digital output module manufactured by HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH, developed for HIQuad H41q / H51q fault‑tolerant safety instrumented systems.
This safety output module drives field actuators, solenoid valves and safety relays. It executes safety trip commands issued by the main CPU, and performs periodic online channel diagnostics. Under module failure or bus communication loss, outputs automatically switch to predefined safe de‑energized state. Widely deployed in SIL3‑grade ESD, burner management and turbomachinery protection loops for petrochemical and power industries.

Key Features
- Fail‑safe design: outputs de‑energize upon module fault or communication interruption to guarantee process safety.
- Per‑channel short‑circuit and over‑current protection; faulty channel cuts off individually without affecting remaining working channels.
- Continuous cyclic line diagnostics detect field‑side open‑circuit, short‑circuit and load anomalies and feed diagnostic information back to CPU.
- Hot‑swap capable; replacement can be performed while safety rack keeps running without system shutdown.
- Mechanical key coding prevents mismatched insertion of incompatible I/O modules into rack slots.
- High diagnostic‑coverage circuit design satisfies strict SIL3 loop requirements for safety instrumented functions.
- Suitable for both resistive and inductive loads such as safety solenoids and interlock relays.
Important note: F3331 belongs to HIQuad series, cannot be mixed‑used with HIMatrix series modules without project modification and program download.
