Product Brief

CP471-01 is the core processor module for Yokogawa CENTUM VP distributed control system, deployed inside AFV series Field Control Station (FCS) racks. Serving as the computing core of the field control unit, it executes continuous PID control, sequence logic, interlock protection, I/O data acquisition and alarm management. It communicates with local/remote I/O modules via the ESB bus and connects to HMI, engineering stations through Vnet/IP industrial network. Supporting simplex and dual redundant hot-standby configuration, it realizes bumpless master-slave switchover, widely adopted for new DCS projects and spare renewal of existing process control cabinets.

Installation & Commissioning Guidance

Cut off rack power before disassembly and installation. Wear anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic damage to internal chips. Insert CP471-01 into the dedicated processor slot and lock securely to guarantee stable backplane contact.
For redundant deployment, equip two CP471-01 modules and adopt independent upstream power supply. Separate network cables, power lines and field signal cables; use shielded Ethernet cables and implement standardized single-point grounding.
After wiring inspection, power on stepwise. Launch engineering software to download control application, set network addresses, I/O mapping and redundant synchronization parameters. Verify data communication between controller, I/O nodes and operator stations.
Simulate single processor failure to test master-slave seamless switchover. Check control output and alarm functions remain uninterrupted. After acceptance, add regular inspection tasks to check module temperature, connector tightness and historical fault logs.
