Description
3500/33 (149986-01) Bently Nevada 16-Channel Relay Module
1. Product Features
- It is a full-height relay output module for the Bently Nevada 3500 machinery protection system, providing 16 independent SPDT relay channels.
- Each relay channel supports independent programmable AND/OR alarm voting logic, which can be linked to Alert, Danger, Not-OK signals from all monitor modules in the rack.
- Channels are divided into four groups, configurable via onboard switches for Normally Energized or Normally De-energized operation to meet fail-safe protection requirements.
- Built-in arc suppressors and electrical isolation circuits: 1000 V RMS between channels, 150 V RMS between channels and backplane, resisting industrial electromagnetic interference.
- Front panel equipped with OK, TX/RX communication indicators and channel alarm LEDs for real-time status monitoring and fast fault diagnosis.
- Epoxy-sealed relay construction for stable long-term operation in power plant control cabinet environments.
- Standard plug-in design compatible with 3500 series rack backplane, easy installation, replacement and maintenance.
- Realizes interlock control, alarm annunciations and equipment trip output for rotating machinery protection systems.

3. Product Operation Instructions
- Static Protection: Wear anti-static wristband before handling the module to prevent electrostatic damage to electronic components.
- Pre-installation Check: Ensure the 3500 rack power is fully cut off; inspect module housing, connectors and PCB for visible damage.
- Installation: Align the module connector with rack backplane slot, insert smoothly and fasten front panel locking screw.
- Switch Setting: Adjust onboard DIP switches to select Normally Energized / Normally De-energized mode for each relay group.
- Field Wiring: Connect external alarm/trip control cables to relay terminals following official wiring drawing.
- System Configuration: Power on the rack, use 3500 configuration software to set alarm logic, voting mode and trigger sources for each channel.
- Commissioning: Simulate vibration/displacement alarm signals to verify relay action and interlock function.
- Daily Operation: Monitor LED status; regularly check relay contact tightness and system alarm response.
- Maintenance & Replacement: Cut off rack power before disassembly. After replacement, re-download configuration and complete function loop test.
- Troubleshooting: Inspect backplane contact, communication status and logic configuration if relays fail to actuate.
